What is the scope of this information?

The below information applies only to individuals who attempt to use either customer services or promo codes. General web site privacy information can be found here.

What happens when I make a purchase?

A purchase is made when the payment processor notifies us that the payment has been completed. When this happens, we immediately attempt electronic delivery. This means that the customer is sent an email containing instructions on how to download the product. In some cases, electronic delivery may occur before you're notified that the payment has been completed. If you do not receive electronic delivery within a few minutes of receiving a payment completion notice, it may be worth while to check your spam box. There is small possibility that your email provider could block our emails. If more than 15 minutes have passed since your purchase was made, try contacting us using our contact page. Whatever the situation, we will ensure that you are able to receive your purchases.

What kind of personal data is involved?

When you make a purchase, the payment processor requires you to fill in various forms. Some of this data is forwarded to us, and we use it to create a record that includes name, email address, payments made, products purchased, the country from which the purchase has been made, and the dates thereof. We also collect IP address data when certain actions are performed on our web site.

How is this information used?

Payment-related data are used for the following purposes: 1) To identify and verify customers if they contact us with questions about a purchase they have made. 2) To comply with both local and foreign tax laws. This information is stored offline. We note that the payment processor has their own policy and they send invoices to us via email.

IP address data are used for the following purposes: 1) To troubleshoot potential unforeseen technical problems with out services. 2) To help identify and combat software piracy. 3) To aid in identifying and thwarting attempts to compromise the security of our systems. 4) To help up better understand our customer base.

Is my information shared with anyone?

As a general operating procedure, customer information is never disclosed to third parties. Some good faith examples of exceptions to this practice include the following: If we are compelled by law to disclose such information (i.e. we receive a court issued subpoena). If we discover information that leads us to believe that a crime had taken place AND that the customer information we have is relevant.
