King Cobrato

King Cobrato is a VST vibrato effect from Wire Grind. Its feature a threshold-triggered LFO, precision pitch settings, 13 oscillators, ducking, sidechaining, controls to limit/force LFO oscillations, chorus & flanging effects, and more. King Cobrato takes vibrato to the next level. No longer untunable swirlyness, just highly-controllable creative expression.
An LFO Triggered By MusicKing Cobrato's oscillator is triggered by signal level. This synchronizes the LFO with your music whenever the notes happen to occur. Many of the other features are made possible by this triggering mechanism. These include ducking, limiting/forcing LFO cycling , sidechaining, and lookahead.
Accurate Pitch VariationDial in just the perfect amount of up and down pitch variation with this perceptual control. Pitch range can be adjusted up to ±1200 cents (±1 octave).
Control LFO cyclesSpecify the number of LFO cycles that should follow each trigger. There are also three cycle modes ("at least," "at most," and "exactly") that apply different rules to the number. The relevant control parameters are shown in the image below.

Explore creative possibilities with King Cobrato's 13 pitch envelopes. The envelopes shape the perceptual characteristics of the effect's output. They differ from modulation waveforms, which conventional vibratos typically use as internal data signals. The pitch envelopes are shown below.
Want to trigger modulation after a percussion hit? King Cobrato includes a sidechain input that will do just that. It is similar to those found on compressors and noise gates.
DuckingCobrato can duck the effect as well. Ordinarily, the oscillator activates when the control signal exceeds the threshold. With ducking, it instead activates when the signal drops below the threshold.
Chorus & Flanging TooTo achieve flange and chorus effects, set the wet/dry mix to 50%. We recommend starting with a moderate LFO rate and a pitch range of about 50 cents. Chorus effects will typically use higher pitch range settings than flanging.
Highly AutomatableNearly every parameter can be changed in real-time without friction. Check out the video below for an automation demonstration.

The video demonstrates the use of automation and sidechaining with King Cobrato. A musical arrangement with the effect on two tracks is shown first. The same arrangement is then played again, but with the effect bypassed.

The demo version can be installed using the program linked below. The installer also includes other optional free/demo plug-ins. Demo plug-ins have unlimited time, but they have two limitations:
- Parameters cannot be saved.
- A tone or chirp sound will periodically be added to the output.
- Operating System: Windows 7 or greater.
- Host Program: VST3 compatible host.
