Rhythmic Tap-Skipping VST Plugin

TapSkip adds new rhythm to audio. It generates its own structured rhythm and imprints it onto the rhythm of the input audio. The result is bigger, denser, and more complex rhythms.

Taps and Skips

TapSkip is named after its two parameters: "Taps" and "Skips." A tap is an echo, and a skip is a silent echo (it's skipped). The taps and the skips are mixed together to produce a series of audible and silent beats. This is how it generates rhythm.

TapSkip uses blue squares along a strip to visualize the taps. The skips are depicted as white dots.

Rhythm Instead of Repetition

With traditional delay effects, the loudness of each echo decreases sequentially. TapSkip uses a similar scheme, but the order of the taps' levels is shuffled. This adds variation in addition to the generated timing pattern.

Customizable Taps

Create your own tap/skip pattern. Edit the levels of individual taps to get just the right sound.

Five Note Types

The predelay and delay each have five base note types: duplet, singlet, quintuplet, quadruplet, and triplet. With tempo-syncing being a core feature of TapSkip, using different note types can produce a lot of variation.
